| | THANKS!
For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 130 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 130 | Had a same problem with my 49 Pickup with metallic paint. First mask off only the chip with tape. Take a VERY small amount of paint using a toothpick or touch-up microbrush and dab the smallest amount of paint on the chip. Wait 3-4 hours and repeat until you build up the paint. This may take a few days. Then with the tape on wet sand with the very fine sand paper. You may have to keep putting tape on. Apply more paint if needed. Do this until you build up the paint. Then remove tape. Do a final wet sand with very fine paper. Finally buff with very fine polish/compound. This could take days. Take your time! | | |
