I came to the same conclusion. A stock 235 will be happy with a good oil and a can of break in additive.
I'm still going to go with my original plan of straight mineral oil and 4 oz of ZDDPMaxx. I figure an initial good dose of ZDDP to get everything coated and then just regular oil after that. The first change will be after the 30 minute break in. Since the oil will be drained hot there is no worry of dirt falling out of suspension or sludge build up.
Right now I only have $1500 in the motor (that is still a lot) but $60 of name brand stuff is not going to get me anything more than the $20 stuff I plan on using.
