Good news! It runs! The black wire has 9 volts with the IGN on. That means it's the resistance wire. Sooooo . . . . I hooked both the yellow and black wire to the pos side of the coil and saw spark on my spare plug. A little squirt of gas down the carb and a can of gas on the roof for fuel pressure and she started without much struggle.

Now I'll let it cool off and run a compression check. Keep your fingers crossed that she tests good X6. I'd love to have an L6 under the hood!
