Chinese sabotage! (Don't know the Chinese word for the French word sabotage). Maybe previous mechanic was cleaning that piece on his bench grinder with a wire wheel on it and it flew off like half of everything I try to clean up on one of those "parts slingers" and ended up inside the disassembled engine. I'll bet he is still wondering where it went.
