Glad you came back! I have had a few projects I've sat on, just simply thinking about the "what to do with" factor! The hardest part sometimes is the "just do it" aspect! Start with a nuetral item, and once you get into it, the answers of what you want to do (rod or stock, which engine) will come to you!
