I am on the home stretch of a top end re-build on my '55 235 and I have hit a snag. When I took apart the rocker arm assemblies to clean and inspect, I found alot of wear on the rocker arm shafts. I presume that this is because the inner cores of the rocker arms are worn and grooved. So I started thinking about replacing the rocker arms to keep them from tearing up the new shafts. However, I cant find them anywhere...checked NAPA, Carters, Classic Parts, and even made a call to Egge's and the tech there said that they aren't made anymore. So my questions are...what do you do when rebuilding a rocker arm assembly...can the old rocker arms be resurfaced where they ride on the shaft...and has anyone recently found new ones?
