Joe H, According to Leo Santucci, the GURU of the 250 and 292, the 250 is a couple of inches SHORTER than the 235 and 24 percent lighter, however much that is.
Hoozat, If (BIG "IF") you are replacing the rest of the drive line, the 250 would make a great swap. Use any V-8 bell housing from 55.2 through 72 or a 6 cylinder one from 63 through 72 and hang a T-5 behind it. That would leave you with a stock "appearing" cab and a really drivable truck. No, its not bolt in, but it's not all that bad either, and, I suppose, with the proper early bell housing you could keep the rest of your original drive line. Tom Langdon no longer carries the front mounts, but they are in Sirshe Rod Shop's #10 catalog, page 5.
