Have a '48 Chev big truck with a '58-'62 235 engine in it. Currently has what appears to be the original '48 6-volt generator (10-1/2" overall length) but has a mounting bracket that is for a shorter generator (overall length of the bracket is ~ 6").

The parts books lists a couple of brackets for the long generator with the holes where it bolts to the block in different positions.

I want to build a bracket that fits the later 235 block and holds the early 10-1/2" generator. I need to know the distance from the front end of the bracket to the center of the first block mounting bolt hole.

Anybody out there have the dimension?
