The brake bracket is attached to the cab you need to remove the actuating rod. It attaches to the bottom of the Z-bar with a Clevis/pin. You need to pull the rod out as it runs through the DS cab mount. I don't think pulling it with the column in place is a good idea, you will have to get it way up in the air and back. It is only held to the frame with 4 or 5 bolts just pull it. There is also wiring underneath you will need to disconnect and I would suggest removing the shift handle (make sure trans is in neutral).

FYI, a stripped cab weighs about 300lbs.
