In one rebuild book I've read (can't remember which one, might even be for the Sprite) it mentioned the hardened seat issue. What the book said was, if the head has any decent amount of miles on it from the time before no-lead, there is probably enough lead embedded in the seats to protect them for quite some time. No need to rush a valve job until actually necessary, and use additive only if it makes you feel better. I have no idea how accurate that info is, but it was in the book. Any metalurgists out there to debunk this theory?
Current fleet (subject to change w/o notice) \'49 GMC 3/4-Ton , 60 Austin Healey Frog-eye Sprite (some assembly required), 2011 Dodge Avenger, 2015 Jeep Cherokee. No, they don't all run. My other ride is a (B737)no, (B767)no, A320.... Update... was Embraer E190, now Boeing B787. Knowledge is a wonderful thing, but ignorance means you don't know you can't do something.
