Yes. There is no reason to cut the shield. It's there because there will be some oil
leaking from the front seal eventually and it keeps it off the rubber. The engine sits
down on the mount which can be installed on the frame and the engine set down on it.
The center bolts would normally be swaged into the front plate from the factory.
