As far as I know all 292 are tall deck engines meaning that they have blocks that are taller by about 1-3/4" than a 230-250 which are the same block but use different strokes. Your block number was cast from 63'-66'. This is my understanding of these engines.
The number on your head likely is from being a replacement head. | | |
