CON 2 refers to Conveyor 2 at the engine plant and J (Oct) 2 (2nd) 5 (1965). As far as I know all 292 are tall deck engines meaning that they have blocks that are taller by about 1-3/4" than a 230-250 which are the same block but use different strokes. Your block number was cast from 63'-66'.
This is my understanding of these engines.
The number on your head likely is from being a replacement head.

But how do you see its from the period 63'-66'?
When i look it up I just find that the engine is from 63' - 76'..
I get the date code now, but the "5" could be 75' or am I wrong??
