How did you not notice when you tightened up the bolt? Just curious.
Sound like the bolt was previously twisted or weak. If it went in easily it should come out easily.
Don't know what happened on his but on mine the head was frozen in the hinge and broke when I opened the hood one day. I drilled it out and tapped the hole. Once I put new bolt in hood opened fine. The whole time with the stiff opening hood I thought it was the hinges not the bolt binding up.
