When I bought the new coil at NAPA, the clerk looked up the numbers and gave me the resistor block he said was matched to the coil I bought. I had also noticed that the old resister block got hot (maybe normal) also, but did not smoke. The smoke on the new block started right after the initial startup of the motor after a complete rebuild. After the motor was shut off, and key turned back on it started smoking again. I have went back and checked connections, but will again. And red58, if all fails there I might end up getting one of those internal resister coils. Any other thoughts on this would be appreciated. | | |
