I have agreed value insurance on my incomplete truck for a year or two now. It lives in a locked garage and I've been second guessing if it's worth the money I spend each year, which isn't much really.
Sounds like it's an excellent idea to have/keep insurance on our unfinished rides.
In moving forward you may be better off to find a decent looking truck and swap your surviving mechanical components over to it.
