Thanks. I worked around the problem by using the instrument panel and harness from the truck the engine came from. But I believe you are correct. I checked the two harnesses and the one that matched the motor had the Purple and Yellow wires (on same plug at fuse panel) jumpered together. By the time I discovered this I had both out and the replacement painted. Also I emailed haynes manual company and they sent me the schematic for the TBI. Thanks again.

There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it can not be overcome by brute force and ignorance.
