Is your heater motor 6v or 12v?

If your motor is 6v, some 'Bolters have replaced their 6v motors with 12v motors. You may be able to buy their 6v motor from them. Post an ad. Also, there are some guys who work on old motors that may be able to fix your 6v motor. I'm sure that other forum members can give recommendations.

If you motor is 12v, you may find a 12v motor from a '60s GM car ... probably not an easy find, but possible. I have a '60 Impala 12v heater motor in my '54 Fresh Air heater. Your squirrel cage will mount onto the 12v motor with no modification. You will need to file about 1/16" from the mounting holes in the heater case. (12v aftermarket heater motors also require this.)

EDIT - I just noticed that your signature line states that your truck is 12v. The second part of my post applies. If you still have the original 6v heater motor, please don't toss it, another member may need it. Or, you can hide an (ugly) after market 12v motor inside the 6v case, like DADS50 did.
