The heater motor in my '48 is performing off and on right before a cooling down period is predicted. 4 deg on Saturday night.

What am I up against in removing all the stuff to get the motor out? Does it all have to come out, core included, to get at the motor? Do I have to remove it piecemeal?

Thanks! I don't want to start this w/o knowing what's involved, especially if it's cold outside. (Mrs. Wally gets the garage!)
