alltruck72, Another thing to take into consideration is that when you locate the battery farther from the starter,the more resistance you have in the wires,resulting in less current to your battery,and more heat,generated from the resistance in the cables. I had a cable fall on the ground-on-fire,from an over-length jumper-wire,although it was on a COF4070B IHC TranstarTwo.,equipped with two 12V batteries,335 Cummins Fuller RTO9510,10-speed,twin Rockwells with 4:11's B.T.W.-It also "cashed the starter!-EXPENSIVE!! B.T.W... the cable was less than 4' long.
