Hi, Everybody!
I have a '47 Loadmaster 1-1/2 Ton that I got about a year and a half ago. It was a former farm truck, and in really nice shape for it's age. A former owner had installed a 307 V8 out of a '68 Impala, along with converting it to 12 volts.
My question is this: when you turn the key off, the engine runs for 1 or 2 extra seconds before shutting off. I've been told that this is because there is a resistor in there-(maybe for the gauges?)
It's not really a problem, and I'm not even concerned about fixing it. I'm just wondering why it does it- I've never seen that before in a vehicle.
I realize that eventually I'm going to have to re-wire this thing- either from scratch, or with a harness of some sort. Between the engine swap, plus a couple things that I added, it looks kind of like spaghetti, both under the hood, and under the dash! Plus, the original wiring that's left is beginning to show it's age.
But for now, I'm just having fun with it.
