Anytime you can can get fresh air into a engine, it will run better. If you are having issues with under hood heat, then it will help a lot, but your engine is working normal, and heat is controlled, then you may not see any gains. If you do go this route, be sure to insulate the air tube going to the carb, or it will just supply heated air. You will never know till you try it, so I say go for it and let use know what happens.
