Still sounds like a good deal. I'm out of just under 400 for mine. Like you I got a steal of a deal. Mine came to me completely disassembled. But the p/o had taken the liberty of media blasting the case and really cleaning each and every piece of the internals. The gears were like new.
I bought a rebuild kit that included new brass rings, synchros, needle bearings, etc. The shifter even came with an adapter that positions the shifter well in from of the bench seat. I just hope the old guy who rebuilt it knew what he was doing.
