Is this for your '50? I thought that vent windows were introduced in 1951. If yours are like the ones in my '54, you must drill out the pivot rivet to remove the vent window. Then install the new rubber. Position the vent and replace the rivet.

Vent window pivot rivets and rivet setting tools are available from most supplers. I was lucky. I found it pretty easy to set the rivet. Alvin replaced his rivot with a special bolt. He can tell you how he did it.

I assume that you are doing this with the vent assembly removed from the door. Don't think I would want to try to set the pivot rivet while the assembly is in the door.

Note - the rubber seal overlays the window garnish. A little dish washing liquid may ease it into postion.
