Hi, It's real easy, inexpensive and almost stock looking... Here's what I did to my 65 1/2 ton...
1- Bought a new washer bottle from classicindustries.com , part #K2535, $16.95. This mounts in a neat OEM fashion.
2- Bought a washer pump from Walmart, threw out package, but about $7.00. Also a 12ft roll of 1/8 inch washer tubing, about $4.00, and a "HORN" button, about $3.00, as well as an 1/8 plastic "T", about $2.00
3- Bought "SKULL" shaped washer nozzles from BestBuy, about $12.00... I thought they were cool... and was the reason I did this in the first place...
I installed all these componants in about an hour...
1- Mounted the "HORN" button on the lower dashboard, just below the wiper switch...
2- Mounted washer jar on right fender in the almost stock looking location...
3- Mounted to pump next to it, ran a tube from pump inlet to jar outlet... Filled jar with fluid... Checked for leaks...
4- Ran appropiate guage wire (12/14 guage, one red, one black) from switch, through the firewall. Attach red wire to battery, POSITIVE or accessory terminal on fuse block.
Attach black wire to pump positive pole and connect negative pole to a good ground, usually the fender or firewall it's mounted on
5- Drilled 1/4 inch holes through my hood, (OH NO!!!, yep, that's what I did) and mounted the nozzles, aiming for center of windshield...
6- Using a plastic "T" fitting, connect nozzles to washer pump outlet....
When you press the horn button, VOILA!, washers...
Check for leaks, adjust aim on the nozzles and you're all done...
P.s. Make sure you have fluid in jar BEFORE you test pump... These pumps burn out real fast otherwise... Fluid acts as a coolant/lubricant for the pumps themselves...
GOOD LUCK!!!
