If you do a search for "color blending" you'll find some pretty good info and how to's.
You have to be careful about the reducer used in the clear coat you choose. Some reducers are fairly 'hot' and may melt your original causing problems. They make an "Inter coat" for folks who do graffics and multi colors that you spray over your work to save it, then more base/color or clear can be shot.
It also lets you blend your panel easier because you can shoot your first coat cover with inter and see if the blend shows and if need be shoot over it again to finesse it some more.
