High idle and erratic missing is Often the Sign of a vacuum leak, (well if your mixture is rich enough to support it ) clean plugs, good wires, proper timing clean fuel and plugged vacuum lines, set the valves lash and evaluate the running from there.....can narrow it down to leaking vacuum accessories, carb issues or valve or other compression related issues.
