You may want to check the rear end to see if
it is still a 3.08. You only know what it was 44 years ago right now. Hard to tell what a PO has done without checking.
Second, your intended use for the truck will obviously dictate the best driveline. You might do fine hauling light loads and getting around town and highway with your present setup.
If you only get one or two more opinions on your setup, the present discussion title is the problem.
You might start a new discussion in this section with a title such as "216/Powerglide/3.08, Will it work?"
