No comment on the clearance issue.
As to 3 carbs on a six cylinder, a properly thought-out and tuned system will run GREAT! Those who might disagree might look at the Jaguar XK-E or the Austin Healey 3000 as a couple of examples. There are many others. However, 3 Rochester B's on a basically stock 235 is grossly overkill!
A wee bit of homework will pay huge dividends.
