After doing a bit of nosing around on other sites, this is what I've come up with:
Basically, my primary option for getting a more highway friendly rear is a 73-87 14-bolt rear, with the lower ratio I'm looking for primarily in diesel p/u's (a rarity, I bet) and Suburbans. But I'm looking at a 3" wider axle, so need to backspace my wheels 1.5" a side to fit.
So, I take it the 14-bolt is a corporation rear rather than a Dana 60????
By the way, want to keep the 8-lugs. And though mine is a 68 model, it was built in late 67. One site I was looking at said Chevy started putting Dana's into the C-20 in 68. The GMC's had Danas, I'm told -- dammit.
