Can you bring it home or do you live in a complex? You could do a small gravel bed and by a car cover then tarp it off if not. You don't have to have a garage. Unless that's where the tools are. If you end up getting a different cab it may have components in better shape than you currently have as far as small items. But if you have good small components those could be cleaned up and painted. I would start with a major inspection first. check the frame over well also.
