There was an accident here locally a few years ago that involved a later model Jeep Cherokee, maybe a mid 90's that had the tank mounted in the rear between the frame rails. It was rearended on the interstate and the tank ruptured, then burst into flames.
The vehicle occupants, a woman and her daughter were burned to death.
