When adjusting the float level with a Carter spring-loaded needle and seat, ALWAYS set the specified dimension with the float resting on the valve with its own weight only. DO NOT COMPRESS THE SPRING. Compressing the spring will give a false setting.

I did correct my float setting and set it with just the float resting

the flooding issue still occured with it set this way.

I increased the 1/2 dimension to 17/32 as suggested earlier in the thread.
