Hey Dennis,
I used a piece of aluminum. T-6 because it was $5.00 at the remnants store!
It's .75 thick which gives you room to mount the trans dapt filte, Off of the motor mount and gives you about a .25 gap between the filter and the block. I also radiused the top edge which you don't see in the photos, so th oil lines could go as close as possible to the block..
I drilled my block for the oil lines on a Bridgeport mill so while I was at it I drilled out the lugs for the motor mounts for 5/16 18 bolts.
