I'd suggest fabricating a bracket to mount the spin-on filter adapter on the driver's side inner fender near the oil passages. Pretty accessible, and no mess to speak of during a change.

I'm seeing a doc at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. He comes pretty highly reccomended.
