this thread I described a 5-speaker stereo system I hid in a '57 p/u. This is overkill... he was extremely concerned about stereo separation and leaving almost no clues for potential theives.
I still don't like kickpanel speakers, they always sound muddy to me. Get the source close to ear level if you want any fidelity. Dual mids in the dash will give clarity, but not stereo separation. Adding tweeters in the corners of the roof will compensate for this. A sub can be mounted anywhere, since the lower the frequency range the harder it is to determine the source.
