I recently picked up a relatively solid 1961 C10. I am looking to put a newer model front end on it with disc/power steering setup. I read a article in Classic Truck that told of a guy that put a 78 Chevy 1/2 ton 2x4 clip on a 1962 C10. It gave him the disc/power steering he wanted and he added aftermarket drop spindles to this configuration. Is there a range of Chevy truck candidates for this kind of thing? What years would best be suited for my 61 C10? I also need some good ol input on a good motor/tranny setup for a daily driver with a little punch under the hood. I don't want to spend a fortune on each item so I'm looking for a good donor for as much of this as possible. I have a friend trying to unload a 79 Chevy 2x4 with a 350, posi rear and I'm hoping a good clip. Does this sound like a good idea? Feedback please......Thanks all. | | |
