Define "clip". If you mean you are going to try to install new springs with the later spindles, while keeping your original sheet metal, your torsion bar suspension complicates that. The X frame on yours also complicates going to a later model automatic trans. If a "clip" means a wholesale welding on of a new front, that can be done. I heard of somebody on this forum who did that with a '73 front clip as I recall. But first take a look at the Eckler's catalogue. You may want to just retro fit new parts.
