Ok... my 228s and (1)248 and the 302 are unmolested engines (never rebuilt) the 270 is completely rebuilt, I use 30w detergent in it in winter and 40w detergent in summer for the 270.
The other 248 has been over-hauled, but never started...yet. It has 30w Detergent oil in it. All engines have external oil filters.
