If the two trucks use the same axles, it is quite a simple thing changing hub and drum assemblies. I ran open center wheels on everything from the early 60's until the mid 90's. I went to hub piloted because of the simplicity of outboard drums. If you can grab a donor, I would do it. Dayton adapters are pretty hard to find.
