I got 2x1 Carter W1 on my daily 235 (see link) and it's the simplest, most reliable and best responding combination I found.
The trick is to go with 2 smaller 216 carbs for a street 235.
Larger carbs are too much and run too rich, unless you have a bigger cam and do other high-rpm mods to the engine.
I got a 216 2x1 and enlarged the intake ports to 235 size, but you can also go with 216-235 adapter rings.
You can find good cheap W1 cores all over the place and there are places online that sell quality carbs kits.
I set mine up once after installation and never needed re-adjustments. No leaks.
Gives about 18-20 mpg on the freeway with a 3.55 rear.
The smaller carbs respond just right for city driving.
The unisyn tool is alright, but inaccurate.
Get a small motorcycle carb balancer with dial.
The smallest adjustment makes a big difference.
And perfect balance between the two carbs is really noticable.
