If you have nothing to hold it up while you do it from the top side, you can put a 2x4 or some piping from the rad area to the top of the hood just to keep it up while you unbolt the hinges. Then lift the hood up and take the support out and lower it down, as you lower it you can grab each side of the hood and lift it out of the way. That's how I also do it since I never have anybody around to help lol
