When I aquired my 38, the white metal bushing in the shift tower was shattered. I bought a new one from JC and it is a nice brass machined bushing. Installing it in the towered I discovered that the tabs that locate it in the tower are a little smaller in length that the notches in the tower. This creates some undesireable play in the sifter.
Lately I purchased another bushing on Ebay which is made by a different manufacturer.
The instructions say the "rivet" the tabs slightly when installing it in the tower. Does this mean compress the tabs somehow to make them fill the void? | | | |
