I don't know if you folks know about this "New" product called "LIQUID TAPE" made by Gardner Bender. Its designed to use on wires where the insulation has been frayed or degraded. It works like rubber cement and comes in almost the same type of applicator. All you do is apply a coat of this liquid material around the exposed wire area, let it dry for 5 minutes and then recoat once more for a thicker coating. Its so easy to use in areas where a wire's insulation has worn and is shorting out.
Today I was finally able to get my horn working because the wire to the horn running down the steering wheel tube was worn of insulation where it comes out of the tube near the steering box.
Liquid Tape comes in 4 colors. I used the black which is Product #LTB-400. Pretty cool stuff! I found it at Lowes in the electrical area.
