While keeping the right door open I would just sit down and first make sure the latch was low enough to catch and not slip off. Then I moved the bottm catch piece back to where I could see it needed to be..... held it and opened the door then marked the holes. I did have to slide forward a bit but ended up not having ot drill a hole.
