Tim,
I don't think the driveshaft is going to cause you any difficulty in installing the shifter. You're more likely to be distressed by the work necessary to connect the shift arms, and by the position of the shift lever inside the cab. Before buyiing the 7667, I'd suggest you read the
installation instructions carefully, so you understand the necessary mods to the shifter arms.
I'd also suggest you pull the trans cover out of your truck an take a look at the trans. The instructions show where the stick mounts on the trans. Look at where that is on your 55.1. Will you be happy with it that close to the seat? If not, then you can plan for additional work to mod the shifter and stick.
I don't mean to scare you off this plan. I just want to ensure you have the opportunity to avoid unhappy surprises.
