dbo...welcome to the forum. I would check with the manufacturer of the column that you are planning on installing. Or are you going with a used unit from another truck? Although the collapsing column is not the most popular choice for these old trucks, most opt for a tilt....it is your truck and your build, so do what you want with it, enjoy it and have fun doing it. There are several companies that make adapters for the shafts and wheels, so I'm sure that you will be able to find one that will be compatible. And how about some pics of the old truck for the rest of us.
