Well since the engine is not turning, the shaft is only moving a little tiny bit. Yes - the vaccum mechansim is loose. I removed all the "guts" from the distributor including governor weights etc. SO the distributor housing is turning freely now.
Denny - I'd be happy to post a pic. Any particular angle etc??
