is the shaft coming up with the housing? if not the gears are stuck together. try turning the distributor shaft while pulling up.the shaft needs to turn indepently from the housing.it needs to turn as your pulling up to come out. mine was kind of stuck like that. might even help squirting a little squirrel [censored] around the shaft to loosen it up from distributor housing. then some down towards the dist. gear. once everything is loose just keep working it, soon or later it will pop out.
