Just bought my 1st welder. Got it used off of CL with gauges for $150. I am happy as a dog with a bone! grin

The instruction manual says that flux core no gas welding produces less heat than gas welding. I plan to do most of my own welding after practicing on several household projects.

Would it be best for me to practice with flux core? What size wire is best to learn with?
